Going up in the World

Arriving back from the Winter Wonderland we finally stopped shivering. Touchdown in Ho Chi Minh City and back to work. Tim jumped on the Funbus headed for the young learners course while I returned to the normality of English teaching and another year in Vietnam.
Feeling it was time to ramp up the luxury we started to look for a new apartment. I say we, we rang our trusty local apartment scout. He was a little surprised when he discovered that two bedrooms just weren’t enough and we were looking to expand. We were definitely now a three-bedroom kind of couple.Tim’s tenacity, dragging essential musical equipment halfway round the world (including a treasured new stylophone), was rewarded with his own music room, complete with tasteful display cabinet for his forth-coming awards. We finally have a decent size kitchen to spoil ourselves with culinary delights over and above instant MSG noodles. I have a dedicated writing room, the desk and books confronting me with screams and shouts every time I walk past, ready for book number two.
We’ve settled in and have found a calm oasis to watch the chaos of Saigon from, that looks like a palace fit for a pair of adults. Who’d have thought it.
Maybe we’ll get a couple of ice sculptures, blend-up some margaritas and live the city lifestyle to the full. Probably not.
Gloat over.
